Resumen de Fragments de manuscrits hebreus i arameus descoberts de nou a l'Arxiu Diocesà de Girona

Enric Cortès i Minguella

  • Sorne rnonths have already passed since the discovery of a considerable nurnber of fragrnents of Hebrew and Ararnaic rnanuscripts (of parchrnent and paper) which were used as falce covers for two volurnes (at the end of the 15th century and the beginning of the 16th century) frorn the Girona Diocesan Archives. They are concerned with texts used by the Jewish cornrnunity in Girona during various centuries. There are 17 different rnanuscripts, 5 of which are Biblical with sorne curious passages frorn the point of view of textual criticisrn. One of thern (Fragrnent D) has 23 folios of considerable paleographic interest. (In the next inventory this nurnber of folios will be increased.) The Fr. F contain's possibly unknown passages of the Tg. Onkelos. Rasi's cornrnentaires on Gn (Fr. F,~6 paper folios) are also included in this set, so representative of the religious-cultural richness of the Jewish cornrnunity. More difficult to discern is the value of the fragrnents of the Babylon- ian Talrnud,, (Taan., 14 folios; Shab., 2 folios; Bez., 1 folio; Keth., 1 folio) but they rnay help to give a better understanding of the dextus receptus (?) of the Sepharad in the Medieval era. To these fragrnents rnust be added two Talrnudic cornrnentaries by unknown authors (Fr. V and VI); to Ber., 6 folios and 60 R. Sh., 12 folios. Of greatest interest are the unique fragrnents of unpublished piyutirn (Fr. VIII) of the 13th century and, above all, religious poetry (Fr. VII), also unknown. This poetry will constitute an interesting contribution in the field of Gironese Cabbala.
