Resumen de Trayectorias laborales y reproductivas: una comparación entre México y España

El propósito de este trabajo es analizar la relación entre el comportamiento productivo y reproductivo de las diferentes cohortes de mujeres, en tres etapas del ciclo vital familiar, en México y España. Para ello, se utilizan: la Encuesta Nacional sobre Fecundidad y Salud (1987) de México y la Encuesta de Fecundidad (1985) de España. Con la información relativa a la actividad laboral de las mujeres en tres etapas del ciclo vital (antes del matrimonio, entre el matrimonio y el nacimiento del primer hijo, y en la fecha de la entrevista), se elaboraron ocho trayectorias familia-laborales. Los resultados obtenidos muestran algunas pautas comunes en el comportamiento reproductivo y laboral de las mujeres mexicanas y españolas que tenían entre 25 y 29 años al momento de la entrevista, y que son las que mejor compatibilizan su actividad laboral y su desarrollo familiar.

This paper analyzes the relationship between the labor and reproductive behavior of different cohorts of women in three stages of the family life cycle in Mexico and Spain. The data bases used were the Encuesta NacionaJ sobre Fecundidad y Salud (1987) for Mexico and the Encuesta de Fecundidad (1985) for Spain. Eight different family and labor trajectories were constructed for women using the information related to their labor participation in three stages: before marriage, between marriage and the first child, and at the moment of the interview. The results revealed some common reproductive and labor behaviors between Mexican and Spanish women. Among the different cohorts, those of the Mexican and Spanish women who were aged 25-29 years at the moment of the interview showed the greatest compatibility between their labor participation and family development.
