Resumen de Experimental evaluation of haunched joints

Alfonso Loureiro Montero, Manuel López López, Ruth Gutiérrez Fernández, José Manuel Reinosa Prado

  • In recent years, several researchers have been working hard for improving the knowledge with respect to the comportment of the steel joints, with special effort in obtaining the rigidity of the different components of the joints, with the aim of introducing this rigidity in the method of the components according with EC3. But the method of the components has important limitations for the type of joints analyzed in the present work and so, as a first step in the proposal of an alternative method of evaluating the stiffness of the joints, the authors show the results of 4 tests of haunched joints of facade with different typologies with regards to the stiffening of the column web. In all cases, the specimens have been subjected to a pointed load at the end of the beam, and rotations and displacements have been measured.
