  • Resumen
    • The theology of the Sacrament of Ordination as is still being considered today by the official doctrine of ecclesiastical teaching, presents rather too many problems related to the life and pastoral care of the Church. Among these, is the one of .cperpetuity-, that is to say, that a priest is a priest for ever, even if he becomes unworthy of it, heretic, apostate, or due to special circumstances decides to abandon the clerical state. The same could be applied to the bishop. Then, a priest and a bishop who don't belong to the clerical state any more through 4he reduction to the lay state,> for the circunstances above mentioned, will be in spite of everything, priest or bishop. Everybody is aware of the problem derived from this: some church communities are not properly cared by their pastors. On the other hand there are priests reduced to the laity who have decided to carry on an activity far different from the clerical one.
