  • Resumen
    • To study the relative and absolute timing of post- Variscan cooling and exhumation processes in the Erzgebirge of the Mid-European Variscides, eight samples for apatite fission-track analysis were collectedfrom a -1300 m borehole. The fission-track data reveal two stages of accelerated cooling from - 1 10 to <60°C during the Early Cretaceous and during the late Tertiary, respectively. The first cooling event can be correlated with tectonic inversion. The second cooling event may be related to young tectonics, likely combined with the influence of geomorphic factors.
