The single grain geochronology o f the detrital apatite and zircon grains is a powerful tool in the provenance analysis o f siliciclastic sediments. The individual ciystal ages usually form clusters indicating the common source o f grains o f the groups. The age clusters can be related to different areas or structural blocks having different cooling history. In age-provenance studies the key question is the identification o f the components.
This is the first step in the interpretation o f the data. A new computer program is announcedfor component analysis. POPSHARE uses the Simplex approach and during the fitting process the age distribution o f the measured data and the supposed distribution o f the components is plotted. In this communication we give only a very short introduction and present first time this kind offitting.
