Resumen de Introducción al análisis de la sustentabilidad del Museo de las Momias de Guanajuato

  Los museos son una industria cultural en constante crecimiento y su sustentabilidad es un tema que comienza a cobrar importancia por la necesidad de tener instituciones culturales más integrales y eficientes. Este trabajo es de tipo exploratorio y su objetivo consiste en analizar la sustentabilidad en los museos considerando las dimensiones cultural, económica, social y ambiental mediante el modelo de Stylianou-Lambert, Boukas, & Christodoulou-Yerali(2014). El proyecto trata de un estudio cualitativo de caso centrado en documentos y la observación del Museo de las Momias de Guanajuato con la finalidad de identificar las políticas culturales y sustentables e identificar sus fortalezas y debilidades. Este museo es el tercero más visitado de México y la segunda fuente de ingresos para el municipio. La pregunta de investigación fue ¿cuál es la situación de los elementos de sustentabilidad en el Museo? Esta primera indagación permitirá delinear mejores ejes de desarrollo para el museo. Los resultados apuntan a que el Museo de las Momias tienen un fuerte impacto económico y cultural, pero aún falta mucho por desarrollar en las dimensiones social y ambiental. Como futura línea de investigación se debe probar empíricamente los resultados exploratorios encontrados en este trabajo.

  Museums are a cultural industry in constant growth and its sustainability is an issue that is beginning to be of vital importance due to the need to have more integral and efficient cultural institutions. This work is of exploratory type and its objective is to analyze the sustainability in museums considering the cultural, economic, social and environmental dimensions through the model of Stylianou-Lambert, Boukas, & Christodoulou-Yerali (2014). The project involves a qualitative case study focused on documents and the observation of the Museum of the Mummies of Guanajuato. The objective was to identify cultural and sustainable policies so that, determine their strengths and weaknesses. This museum is the third most visited in Mexico and the second source of income for the City of Guanajuato. The research question was: what is the status of sustainability elements in the Museum? This first inquiry will allow to delineate better strategies of development for the museum. The results suggest that the Mummy Museum has a strong economic and cultural impact, but there is still a long way to go to develop the social and environmental dimensions. As a future line of research, the exploratory results found in this work must be empirically tested.
