Tras décadas de guerra civil, Somalia avanza hacia la construcción de un proyecto nacional frente a un panorama de rivalidad política y social, agravado por la violencia yihadista y la lucha remanente entre los clanes somalíes. En este difícil contexto, la seguridad es un objetivo prioritario para el Gobierno nacional, y también requisito ineludible para garantizar la estabilidad y el desarrollo del país. En el marco de una destacada cooperación internacional, EUTM Somaliase centra en el fortalecimiento de las estructuras de defensa y el adiestramiento de unidades militares; los 22 militares españoles desplegados en la misión son factor clave en la consecución de este objetivo.

After decades of civil war, Somalia moves towards the construction of a national project versus a scenario of political and social rivalry, aggravated by jihadist violence and the residuary struggle between the somali clans. In this difficult context, security is a priority objective for the national government, and also an inescapable requirement to guarantee the stability and development of the country. Within the framework of a prominent international cooperation, EUTM Somalia focuses on the strengthening of defense structures andthe training of military units; and the 22 spanish military deployed in the mission are a key factor in the achievement of this objective
