The paper examines the role and significance of St. Teresa in the present world as well as future in the context of the new evangelization. First the author analyses her views on prayer and illustrates how she made it a medium of conversation with god. A comparison with the lives of two recently declared saints from India namely St. Euphresia and St. Chavara is also made. The mystic power of prayer and Eucharistic adoration is explained and established through the philosophies of these saints. Finally it is concluded that ardent faith should be reflected through education and societal uplifts of the poor, social transformation and reformation via true spirituality and human love irrespective of religious segregations in a pluralistic society like that in India. Also the importance of media in the new evangelization process is brought out through the life of St.Chavara who established the first printing press and news paper called Deepika in Kerala, India.
