Percepción del estudiante acerca de la participación de la familia en su formación profesional como licenciado en Trabajo Social de la Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán

    En México existe una gama de estudios y programas enfocados en la familia y educación; sin embargo, estos se centran únicamente a los niveles básicos de educación, descuidando de alguna manera el nivel superior. Por lo anterior, el presente estudio tuvo como propósito conocer la percepción del estudiante acerca de la participación familiar en su formación profesional como Licenciado en Trabajo Social de la Facultad de Enfermería, Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán (FEUADY), con el fin de contribuir al desarrollo humano de los estudiantes en su proceso educativo. La participación de la familia en la educación, según Guerra (2013), “es un tema que debe ser abordado desde la visión del trabajador social, ya que tanto la familia como la escuela son contextos esenciales para el desarrollo humano” (p. 93). No obstante, la ausencia de acciones entorno a la familia y la baja incidencia de trabajadores sociales en el nivel superior han obstaculizado este desarrollo. La metodología utilizada para esta investigación fue de corte cualitativo y tipo descriptivo, utilizándose las técnicas de grupos de enfoque y entrevistas individuales. En los resultados los estudiantes mencionaron que perciben como importante la participación de la familia en su formación profesional, ya que esta, al ser su seno primario, le otorga ayuda, orientación, soporte y afecto. Sin embargo, falta reforzar este proceso mediante la comunicación y crear un vínculo entre ambas instituciones educadoras.

    In Mexico, there is a range of studies and programs focused on family and education; However, these focus only at basic levels of education, neglecting in some way the higher level. Therefore, the present study aimed to know the student’s perception about the participation of the family in their professional training as a graduate in Social Work of the Nursing Faculty, Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán (with its acronym in spanish FEUADY), to contribute to human development and quality of life of the students about the participation of their families in their educational process. The family involvement in education, according to Guerra (2013) «is an issue that must be approached from the perspective of the social worker, since both family and school are essential context for human development» (p. 93); However, the absence of actions around the family and the low incidence of social workers in the upper level have hampered this development. The methodology used for this research was qualitative cut descriptive using the techniques of focus groups and individual interviews. In the results the students mentioned that they perceive as important the participation of the family in their professional training, since this being their primary sine gives them help, guidance, support and affection. However, it is necessary to strengthen this part through communication and create a link between both educational institutions.
