Error en medicina, una refl exión bioética

    El error en medicina ha sido una constante preocupación de los médicos. El médico, cuando se prepara en las aulas, está enfocado principalmente en el conocimiento del organismo humano, ya sea anatómico, bioquímico, fisiológico, embriológico, histológico, farmacológico, clínico, terapéutico y de rehabilitación; de hecho 95% es para prevenir, curar, rehabilitar al ser humano y únicamente 5% o menos de su currículo contempla el aspecto ético de la medicina; es decir, poco se habla del error o de equivocarse en medicina. El médico es humano y como tal es falible, puede cometer errores, ya sea por deficiencia en su formación como alumno o como profesional en su educación continua o en su formación humanista, pero rara vez lo hará por comisión, aunque sí por omisión. El médico debe contar con una buena formación científico-técnica y ética, ya que cuando cometa un error, debe aceptarlo y de éste adquirir conocimiento para no volver a repetirlo y darlo a conocer, quizás esto sea lo más difícil, para que sus colegas no repitan ese error

    It has been a constant concern of physcians error in medicina. The physcian, when preparing in the classrooms, is focused main knowledge of the human organism, whether anatomical, biochemical, physiological, embryological, histological, pharmacological, clinical, therapeutic and rehabilitation, in itself 95%, is to prevent, cure, rehabilitate the human being, only 5% or less of his curriculum, considers the ethical aspect of medicine. There is little talk of error or mistakes in medicine. The physcian is human and as such is fallible. The physcian may have errors, either due to defi ciency in his training as a student, or as a professional in his education continue or in his humanistic training. But it will seldom do it by commission, but by default. The physcian must have a good scientifi c-technical, and ethical training. For when an error is made, accept it and from it get the teaching not to repeat again and make it known, perhaps this is the most diffi cult thing, so that your colleagues do not repeat the error.
