Resumen de The role of virtual sequence simulation in the analysis of packaging machines

B. J. Hicks, C. Bowler, Anthony J. Medland, G Mullineux

  • The production of packaging machinery is a highly competitive global market driven by the ever-increasing demands of the users. Many machines have now reached the point at which the requirements of increases in product variation, throughput and quality can no longer be met. Before embarking on a major program of design improvements, a company needs to know whether any significant capability remains in the current designs. This paper describes an approach that enables the designer to establish the dead time and, through threedimensional sequence modelling, to evaluate changes in performance resulting from reductions in the operation times of individual processes. In addition to this, the designer may assess the performance of design changes to assemblies and observe the effects of different products in the machine system.
