  O sítio arqueológico localiza-se no vale do Rio Dueça, Concelho de Penela, Distrito de Coimbra, e está documentado desde 1902. Tem ocupação entre o século II d.C. e inícios de século V d.C.

  como villa romana, pertencente ao território do municipium de Conimbriga, província da Lusitania.

  Nos séculos XV e XVI, a área foi reocupada pela Capela da Senhora da Graça com necrópole associada.

  Ao longo dos três anos de investigação, identificámos alguns compartimentos da pars urbana com um total de treze painéis de mosaico. A descoberta de uma inscrição mostra a existência de um proprietário, de nome Caturo, provavelmente devoto do deus Marte, revelando dados sobre as crenças religiosas e onomástica local.

  The archaeological site is located in the Dueça River Valley, in the municipality of Penela, district of Coimbra, and it is documented since 1902. It was occupied as a Roman villa between the 2nd century AD and the beginning of the 5th century AD, belonging to the territory of the municipium of Conimbriga, province of Lusitania. In the 15th and 16th centuries, the area was reoccupied by the Senhora da Graça Chapel, with an associated necropolis.

  Over three years of research, we have identified some rooms of the pars urbana with thirteen mosaic panels. The discovery of an inscription shows the existence of an owner, named Caturo, probably a devout of the God Mars (?), while providing data on the religious beliefs and local onomastics.

  The ongoing research provides important insights into the organization of the rural structures that kept alive the civitas of Conimbriga
