    • An analysis of China's geography textbooks reveals an explicit ideological orientation that reflects China's policies. Because the system of textbook writing, publishing, and distribution in China is centralized, textbook content is influenced primarily by the state and specific methods of ideological alignment are exployed. This article examines the changing ideological orientation of China's perspective of the U.S. as reflected in its geography texts and also provides suggestions for future textbook development.
