    Considerando que para un docente conocer las ideas previas que tienen los estudiantes respecto a un concepto, es importante, en tanto, proporciona el punto de partida desde el cual diseñar una propuesta didáctica que centrada en el mismo permita un aprendizaje contextualizado y significativo, en el presente artículo, se exponen los resultados de una investigación que tiene por objeto, identificar las ideas previas existentes entre las estudiantes del grado 605 de la Institución Educativa Distrital Colegio La Merced, en relación con los conceptos de alimentación y nutrición animal. En esta investigación de tipo cualitativo, se utilizó como instrumento de recolección de datos un cuestionario abierto con un total de cuatro preguntas, el cual permitió ubicar los resultados obtenidos en tres categorías, la primera, crecimiento y desarrollo, la segunda, alimentación y salud y la tercera,sistemas implicados. Producto de la interpretación de resultados se concluye que las estudiantes no diferencian entre los procesos de alimentación y nutrición animal, ni tienen claridad respecto a los procesos, estructuras y funciones afines a los conceptos.

    Considering that for a teacher to know the previous ideas that students have about a concept, it is important, in the meanwhile, to provide the starting point from which to design a didactic proposal that focuses on the same allows a contextualized and meaningful learning in the This article presents the results of an investigation that aims to identify the previous ideas among the students of the 605 degree of the Educational Institution La Merced College, in relation to the concepts of food and animal nutrition. In this qualitative research, an open questionnaire with a total of four questions was used as an instrument of data collection, which allowed to locate the results obtained in three categories, the first, growth and development, the second, food and health and the third, systems involved. As a result of the interpretation of results it is concluded that the students do not differentiate between the processes of feeding and animal nutrition, nor are they clear with respect to the processes, structures and functions related to the concepts.
