    El Triumvirat Mediterrani és una fira de recreació històrica dedicada a l’època clàssica que es fa des de l’any 1996 al municipi de l’Escala. Des de la Unió de Botiguers i Empresaris Turístics de l’Escala (UBET), de bracet amb l’Ajuntament del municipi i el Museu d’Arqueologia de Catalunya — Empúries, i amb la voluntat de desestacionalitzar el turisme d’estiu, va sorgir la idea de fer un mercat d’inspiració antiga. La temàtica de la fira es basa en la voluntat de difondre i transmetre el llegat de convivència entre les tres cultures que van conviure en el passat a Empúries (la indigeta, la grega i la romana) a través d’un extens programa d’activitats bàsicament lúdiques, de recreació històrica, educatives, culturals i de divulgació. En els darrers anys s’ha anat tendint a eliminar aspectes més folklòrics, festius i amb poc rigor històric per substituir-los per d’altres de més documentats històricament i més directament relacionats amb la reconstrucció històrica d’època antiga.

    The Triumvirat Mediterrani is a fair that historically recreates the classical era and has been held since 1996 in the town of L’Escala. Promoted by the Union of Shopkeepers and Tourist Business of L’Escala (UBET), together with the Town Council and the Archaeological Museum of Catalonia-Empúries, and with the aim of encouraging tourism outside of the summer season, the idea of an antiquity-inspired market emerged. The theme of the fair was chosen to transmit the legacy of how three cultures (Iberian, Greek and Roman) lived together in the past in Empúries through an extensive programme including leisure, historical recreation, educational, cultural and dissemination activities. In recent years, some of the more folkloric, festive aspects that are not as historically rigorous have been replaced by others that are more carefully documented and more directly related with the historical reconstruction of the period.
