El totemismo ha sido señalado tanto por Durkheim como por Freud, como la expresión primaria de las religiones, las cuales contienen a su vez el modelo de la vida social. Por ello realizamos un análisis comparativo entre ambos autores para explicitar sus coincidencias y divergencias, poniendo especial atención en el rol que brindan al totemismo en la relación individuo – sociedad.

As much Durkheim as Freud the totem has been pointed out like the primary expression of religions, which contain the pattern of the social life. For this reason we carry out it between both a comparative analysis to explain their coincidences and divergences. We pay special attention on the role that the authors bring to the totem in the relationship individual – society.
