A partir de estas comparaciones Gerald Brenan reconstruye implícitamente una visión arquetípica del español donde el conflicto, como fuerza originaria, se repite incesablemente bajo formas diferentes.
This article analyzes the comparisons, which appear to be neutral, between Spanish people and Oriental mentality in The Spanish Labyrinth. From these comparisons, Gerald Brenan implicitly reconstructs an archetypal vision of Spaniards where conflict as an originary force is incessantly repeated in different forms.
