Resumen de Una crítica de la teoría de la propiedad derivada de la ‘tragedia de los bienes comunes’ a la luz de una perspectiva evolutiva

El objetivo de este artículo es exponer el problema tras la teoría de la propiedad basada en el experimento mental de la tragedia de los bienes comunes (TC) de Garret Hardin, a la luz de una perspectiva evolutiva de la moral. Para ello, analizaré las teorías del psicólogo Jonathan Haidt, del filósofo utilitarista Joshua Greene y del primatólogo Frans de Waal. Estos autores afirman que, para comprender la moral, la relación emoción-razón es un factor fundamental y, a su vez, que es la emoción y no la razón el componente más importante para comprender la moral. A la luz de estos desarrollos la TC se revela como un instrumento impreciso para la teoría de la propiedad, por el hecho de que supone agentes puramente racionales que representan individuos ficticios.

The objective of this article is to expose the problem behind the theory of property based on the mental experiment of Garret Hardin’s “tragedy of the commons” (TC), in the light of an evolutionary perspective of morality. For this, I will analyze the theories of the psychologist Jonathan Haidt, the utilitarian philosopher Joshua Greene and the primatologist Frans de Waal. These authors affirm that to understand morality, the emotion-reason relationship is a fundamental factor and, in turn, that emotion and not reason is the most important component to understanding morality. In the light of these developments, the TC is revealed as an imprecise instrument for the theory of property, due to the fact that it supposes purely rational agents that represent fictitious individuals.
