Los agregados militares españoles en la guerra ruso-japonesa de 1904-1905

    En 1904 el Ministerio de la Guerra envió a Extremo Oriente a seis oficiales como agregados militares en la guerra que libraban en Manchuria y Corea los ejércitos de Rusia y Japón. Tres oficiales se incorporaron al ejército ruso, mientras que otros tres lo hicieron en el ejército japonés. Ambas comisiones se incorporaron a sus respectivos destinos en zonas de operaciones, informando a sus mandos del desarrollo de las acciones militares que tuvieron lugar durante el año 1904 y principio del 1905, describiendo las sucesivas derrotas rusas hasta la decisiva batalla de Mukden. Este trabajo analiza, a la luz de los informes emitidos por ambas comisiones, un conflicto militar que en muchos aspectos se anticipaba a la Primera Guerra Mundial y que significó la primera gran derrota de un ejército occidental ante una emergente nación, como era el Japón del principio del siglo XX.

    RIn 1904 the Ministry of War sent to the Far East six officers as military attachés in the war that waged in Manchuria and Korea the armies of Russia and Japan. Three officers joined the Russian army, while three others did it in the Japanese army. Both committees joined their respective destinations in areas of operations, informing their commanders of the development of the military actions that took place during the year 1904 and beginning of 1905, describing successive Russian defeats to the decisive Battle of Mukden. This work analyses, in the light of the reports emitted by both commissions, a military conflict that in many respects was anticipated with the First World War and which signified the first great defeat of a Western army before an emergent nation, as it was Japan Of the beginning of the twentieth century.
