The Jurassic/Cretaceous boundary in a new outcrop (El Congost), nearby Barranco de Amoros (central sector of the Sierra de Crevillente) has been analyzed. The upper boundary of the Ammonitico Rosso Superior Fm. shows an erosive surface. Overlying this formation, the Represa Fm. (Upper Albian) is deposited unconformably. From the biostratigraphy of the Jurassic/Cretaceous boundary, and the geometry of the discontinuity, we infer the development of listric paleofaults during the Tithonian-Late Albian.
