El Pliensbachiense de la Rama Aragonesa de la Cordillera Ibérica: análisis secuencial

  • The Pliensbachian sediments in the northern part of the Iberian Chain are constituted by marls and limestone facies. In these sediments is possible to recognize six shallowing-upward sequences.

    All of them are represented by marls and mudstone that change to wackestone and packstone with a ferruginous crust at the top of the sequence. This work shows that the oscilations of the sea level during the Pliensbachian produced changes in the environment, evolving from open sea to outer and middle platform.
