L’estiu empordanès d’Aléxandros Filadelfeus i Nausica Palamàs

    L’objectiu d’aquest article és presentar al lector un panorama el més complet possible de l’estada a l’Empordà, durant l’estiu de l’any 1927, de l’arqueòleg grec Aléxandros Filadelfeus (1866-1955) i de Nausica Palamàs (1887-1958), filla i secretària del poeta nacional grec d’entreguerres Kostís Palamàs. Hostatjats a la casa empordanesa de la ballarina Àurea de Sarrà, amb qui havien col·laborat estretament a Grècia durant l’any anterior i amb la qual els unia una profunda amistat, visitaren, des del seu refugi d’Arenys d’Empordà, les principals ciutats i restes arqueològiques de Catalunya (i molt especialment de la província de Girona) i participaren en importants activitats acadèmiques i culturals, com ara conferències, commemoracions oficials o festivals públics de profund contingut noucentista, com el que s’organitzà als peus de l’Arc de Berà el 31 de juliol de 1927. Per a la redacció d’aquest treball hem recorregut a abundant documentació i imatges inèdites, conservades en arxius tant catalans com grecs.

    The aim of this article is to present a panorama as complete as possible of the stay in the region of Empordà, during the summer of 1927, of the Greek archaeologist Alexandros Filadelfeus (1866-1955) and Nausica Palamas (1887-1958), daughter and secretary of the national Greek poet Kostis Palamas. They stayed at the house of the dancer Àurea of Sarrà,with whom they had closely collaborated in Greece during the previous year and with whom they shared a sincere friendship. Together they visited, from their retreat in Arenys of Empordà, the main cities and archaeological sites of Catalonia (and especially those of the province of Girona) and took part in important academic and cultural activities, such as conferences, official commemorations or public events of a strong Noucentistcontent,like the one that was organised at the foot of the Arch of Berà (Tarragona) on July 31,1927. For the writing of this paper we have consulted a great number of unpublished documents and photographies, both in Catalan and in Greek Archives
