    Este relato biográfico abordó la vivencia de un adolescente que enfrentó una lucha contra la leucemia saliendo de su país de origen, sintiéndose una carga económica impuesta a su familia, lidiando con la brecha generada en su entorno social y reorganizando su percepción del yo. El objetivo de esta investigación fue conocer desde su punto de vista las circunstancias que le rodeaban durante el pro-ceso y su respuesta ante ellas. Se utilizó para ello un abordaje cualitativo a través una entrevista semiestructurada transcrita y codificada. El informante describió el proceso desde las primeras manifestaciones de la enfermedad hasta la actualidad. Es llamativo el hincapié en los aspectos socioeconómicos y psicosociales en detrimento a la importancia que le concede al recuerdo de los físicos. Dicho testimonio, pone de manifiesto la importancia de la empatía, la escucha activa y la humanización de los profesionales en el proceso.

    This biographical account addressed the experience of a teenager who faced a fight against leukemia leaving his country of origin, feeling an economic burden imposed on his family, dealing with the gap generated in their social environment and reorganizing their perception of self. The objective of this investigation was to know from his point of view the circumstances that surrounded him during the process and his response to them. A qualitative approach was used for this purpose through a transcribed and coded semi-structured interview. The informant described the process from the first manifestations of the disease to the present. It is striking the emphasis on socio-economic and psychosocial aspects to the detriment of the importance it gives to the memory of physicists. This testimony highlights the importance of empathy, active listening and the humanization of professionals in the process.
