Resumen de La Vinya d’en Berta: un retorn inesperat

  Ara fa uns mesos vàrem poder observar per primer cop la fotografia original de la coberta amb gravats de la Vinya d’en Berta (Pau, Alt Empordà), feta pel fotògraf Manuel Genovart el 2 de setembre de 1931. Aquesta fotografia, una placa de vidre de gran qualitat, mostra clarament els gravats ja coneguts (cassoletes, reguerons) que contenia aquesta coberta, juntament amb altres (zones ratllades i espines de peix) que no s’havien vist mai abans. En efecte, ni en els dibuixos d’Isidre Macau, el mestre que va poder estudiar el monument a mitjan agost de 1931 en el moment que ja estava mig destruït per la construcció d’un pou, ni en la mateixa fotografia, molt mal reproduïda en la publicació de 1934, s’hi apreciaven aquests darrers motius gravats, tan ben coneguts en l’art megalític d’Europa Occidental i dels quals en tenim exemples en dòlmens i esteles de la comarca del Solsonès i de la Noguera, a les planes occidentals de l’interior de Catalunya.

  A few months ago we could observe for the first time the original photography of the capstone with carvings of the Vinya of Berta (Pau, Alt Empordà), made by photographer Manuel Genovart in September 2, 1931. This photography, a large plate glass of high quality,shows clearly some carvings already known(cupmarks, channels) that this cover contained,along with other zones (scratches and herringbone zones), which had never been seen before. Indeed, not even in the drawings by Isidre Macau, the teacher who was able to study the monument in the middle of August 1931 when it was already half destroyed by the construction of a well, neither in the same photography, very badly reproduced in the publication of 1934,could be appreciated the recorded motifs, well known in the megalithic art of Western Europeand of which we have examples on dolmens and steles in the Solsonès and Noguera countries, at the western plains of the interior of Catalonia
