In this contribution we present the results of a detailed technological analysis of Early Middle Palaeolithic lithic assemblages mostly of MIS 8 and 6 age from Cova Negra site, which are located in Mediterranean Iberia. The study of the lithic assemblages allow us to discuss between the possible shifts between Lower and Middle Palaeolithic. Applying a common technological approach to the analysis of the assemblages and a critical review of the stratigraphy we can address its technological variability with respect to raw materials, knapping methods and tooling. The results show great changes over a broad temporal lapse but with very few internal variations
