  Este trabajo es el resultado de una investigación llevada a cabo con alumnos universitarios lusohablan-tes de nivel B1. El objetivo fue comprobar si la inclusión de los textos literarios en el aula de ELE trae beneficios tanto desde una perspectiva cognitiva como afectiva, presuponiendo que con la enseñanza/aprendizaje de una lengua aprehendemos un instrumento para pensar, expresarnos y entender el mundo. El desafío fue, por una parte, mejorar la competencia comunicativa por medio de actividades de comprensión e interacción, tanto a nivel oral como escrito y, por otra, favorecer la implicación y la autonomía del aprendiz, de modo que sea un sujeto que actúe y se relacione con el mundo de una forma más consciente; además de estimular y disfrutar de su capacidad creativa

  This paper presents the findings of a research study carried out on university Portuguese speaking students at the B1 level. The main aim was to test whether the inclusion of literary texts in ELE classrooms brings any benefits to students, from both a cognitive and affective perspective. It assumes that by teaching/learning a language we gain a tool that helps us to think, express our-selves and understand the world. The challenge involved improving communication skills through comprehension and interaction activities, both orally and in writing. The study also favored the student’s participation and autonomy in order for the subject to act and relate themselves with the world in a more conscious manner. Finally, it focused on having the student stimulate and benefit from their creative capacity
