    La expulsión ha ocupado un rol fundamental en la política migratoria española. Se ha pretendido que la respuesta del sistema frente al migrante que incumpla las normas fuera la de su salida coactiva del territorio español y su retorno al Estado de origen. La centralidad de la expulsión ha provocado la creación de una estructura aplicativa que legitima la vulneración de los derechos de estas personas. La voluntad de justificar ese dispositivo de expulsión ha provocado, incluso, la utilización torticera de las estadísticas y las causas de las expulsiones por diferentes Gobiernos. En este trabajo, con los datos oficiales obtenidos del Portal de Transparencia, se analiza el volumen de expulsiones dictadas y ejecutadas en los últimos años, así como los motivos jurídicos que las fundamentaron. Todo ello para valorar la evolución de esta figura y cuestionar el coste humano y estructural que la misma ha ocasionado.

    Expulsion has been the main element of the Spanish migration policy. The purpose was that the main response to migrants breaking the Law should be their deportation from Spain to their country. The central importance of the expulsion has created a structure for it application legitimizing the violation of migrants’ rights. Different Spanish Governments have even manipulated the figures and the causes of the expulsions to justify this deportation structure. In this paper, the volume of expulsions issued and implemented in the last years and the causes of them are analysed in base of the official data obtained from the Spanish Government Transparency Website. The aims are to evaluate the development of the deportations in Spain and to challenge the human and systemic cost of them.
