A new contribution to the Knowledge of the distribution of the asilids of Spain and Portugal (Diptera: Asilidae), including a new species for the Iberian Península

    e presenta nuevo material capturado en España y Portugal perteneciente a la familia Asilidae. Adicionalmente se publican por primera vez registros de ejemplares identificados procedentes de la Colección de Artrópodos del Departamento de Biología de Organismos y Sistemas, Universidad de Oviedo, España. Esto supone información interesante y actualizada sobre la distribución de 63 taxones (62 especies y 1 subspecies). Cerdistus zelleri Schiner, 1862 y Machimus rusticus (Meigen, 1820) se citan por primera vez en Portugal y Machiremisca periscelis (Macquart in Lucas, 1849) en la Península Ibérica (en España). Se proporcionan además numerosas primeras citas de provincias españolas y de distritos portugueses.

    New material of the family Asilidae collected in Spain and Portugal is reported. Additionally, records of identified specimens from the arthropod collection of the Departamento de Biología de Organismos y Sistemas, Oviedo University, Spain, are published for the first time. All this provides interesting and updated information about the distribution of 63 taxa (62 species and 1 subspecies). Cerdistus zelleri Schiner, 1862 and Machimus rusticus (Meigen, 1820) are recorded for the first time from Portugal and Machiremisca periscelis (Macquart in Lucas, 1849) from the Iberian Peninsula (in Spain). Several first records for various Spanish provinces and Portuguese districts are also provided.
