Resumen de Mario de Jesús Pérez Rojas:: Una vocación artística desconocida. Aportes al desarrollo cultural de Las Tunas

  Muchos se han dedicado al estudio de la vida y obra de las personalidades de la cultura tunera que han difundido los resultados de su creación; a pesar de esto, aún existen vacíos que en el orden académico precisan de sistematización.

  Tal es el caso que ocupa esta investigación direccionada hacia una figura de las artes plásticas tuneras cuyo hacer no se recoge en la periodización realizada sobre la historia del arte en la localidad, motivado por su precario estado de salud, desde muy temprana edad, que limitó un mayor reconocimiento social.

  No obstante, realizó aportaciones al desarrollo cultural traducidas en su realización social y artística, colaboró en la última etapa de la lucha insurreccional con el movimiento 26 de Julio y en la Campaña de Alfabetización, llevada a cabo en 1961.

  Por las razones antes expuestas, con basamento en la línea de investigación:

  memoria y patrimonio cultural se realiza la búsqueda para profundizar en el quehacer social y cultural en las diferentes etapas de la existencia de Mario de Jesús Pérez Rojas, conocimiento que quedará plasmado en un documento para la salvaguarda de la memoria cultural de Las Tunas, pilar en la defensa de la identidad y la conservación del patrimonio cultural, las que se materializara través de la creación artística aparejada a la capacidad de apreciar el arte en los entes sociales del proceso renovador de estos días, sin soslayar el medular trabajo comunitario como vía para satisfacer las necesidades espirituales y fortalecer los valores sociales.
