    Este trabajo defiende la tesis de que la escolástica tomista es un elemento de importancia sustantiva no sólo en las lecciones de teología escolástica de Fray Luis, sino también en su exégesis bíblica y en su prosa castellana. Para esto, en primer lugar, se clarifican algunas de las características de la escolástica tomista y se señala que, en aspectos fundamentales, constituye una modulación peculiar de la tradición platónico-agustiniana, con un correctivo de signo aristotélico en relación con la relevancia del cuerpo y los sentidos. En segundo lugar, se examina en tres obras de Fray Luis su interpretación del hombre como imagen de Dios como medio para confirmar la tesis general del trabajo.

    This study defends the thesis that Thomist scholasticism constitutes an element of substantive relevance not only in the scholastic lessons of Fray Luis, but also in his biblical exegesis and in his Spanish prose writings. In order to show this, in the first place, some features of Thomist scholasticism are clarified and it is pointed out that, in some fundamental aspects, it is a peculiar modulation of the platonic-augustinian tradition which also includes an Aristotelian-oriented rectification regarding the relevance of the body and the sense perception. Secondly, as a mean for contrasting the general hypothesis of the work, three works by Fray Luis are examined regarding their interpretation of man as image of God.
