La noción de «despertar» juega un rol central no sólo en la obra de madurez de Walter Benjamin, sino también y funda-mentalmente en sus primeros escritos, en los que adquiere importancia por su vínculo con la función de la escritura. En este trabajo mostraré el modo en que la figura del «despertar» constituye el pun-to de encuentro entre estética y política, al tiempo que proporciona un acceso no-vedoso a los escritos del joven Benjamin. Finalmente, en conexión con su teoría del lenguaje, esta figura permitirá dar cuenta del carácter programático del vínculo entre «praxis literaria» y «praxis política» en el pensamiento de Benjamin

The notion of «awakening» plays a cen-tral role not only in the late works of Walter Benjamin, but also, and funda-mentally in his early writings, in which it becomes essential through its connection to the function of writing. In this article I will show the way in which the figure of «awakening» constitutes the point of convergence between aesthetics and pol-itics, as it offers a new access to the writ-ings of the young Benjamin. Finally, in connection with his theory of language, this figure will allow us to account for the programmatic character of the link between «literary praxis» and «political praxis» in Benjamin’s thought
