  • Resumen
    • This chapter provides a conceptual contribution so that future political, social and academic initiatives will have a precise foundation. Consolidating towns as healthy territories provides possibilities to visitors, including those seeking long-term stays. Academia plays a prominent role in the consolidation of healthy territories by contributing to methodologies and techniques. The health concept can refer to the different dimensions of a human being’s health: social, political, economic, cultural, biopsychosocial, spiritual and environmental. “Healthy territory” is understood to be the group made up of political and civil authorities, public and private institutions and organisations, businessmen and workers and the community in general, who in their daily lives seek to improve their living, working and cultural conditions. A healthy environment must have infrastructure that generates appropriate conditions for health, through the physical, economic and social regeneration of the environment.
