  • Resumen
    • This chapter provides concepts and reflections on interdisciplinary work to address complex problems such as the consolidation of healthy territories in the Mediterranean basin. The possibilities offered by Mediterranean territories lie in the great diversity of geographic environments with relevant physical and geological characteristics. Environmental studies became an example of an interdisciplinary subject aimed at transcending the divisions between the watertight disciplines. The co-evolutive process of interrelations and physical and environmental interactions in the Mediterranean territories has given rise to a particular history where, in the same way, the sociocultural components also co-evolve, interrelate and present a great diversity. Interdisciplinary knowledge has to be confronted so that it responds to real needs and problems. One of the premises that gave rise to the hybridisation of the different disciplines in the study of the territory of L’Alfas del Pi was the recognition that the phenomenon to address transcended any of the disciplinary fields included in the exercise.
