  Colombia es el segundo país más biodiverso del mundo, privilegiándose de tener 314 ecosistemas, 7.432 especies de vertebrados, 30.436 especies de plantas, donde el 1,7% del territorio está cubierto de páramos que abastecen el 70% de agua a la población (Colciencias, 2016). Sin embargo, las actividades extractivas como la minería, la afectación a la calidad del aire, los vertimientos de residuos contaminantes, la deforestación masiva, etc. afectan el patrimonio ambiental y ponen en riesgo el derecho de las próximas generaciones a gozar de un medio ambiente sano. Es así, que este paper tiene como objetivos I). exponer las conductas típicas, antijurídicas y culpables más comunes que se dan en la explotación ilegal de yacimiento minero, II). Diferenciar la noción de minería ilegal, ilícita e informal y III). Exponer las problemáticas sociales que se presentan en la minería artesanal, al ser etiquetada como “ilegal” o “ilícita”.

Differentiate the notion of illegal, illicit and informal mining and III). expose the social problems that arise in artisanal mining, such as "illegal" or "illegal".
