Resumen de La transgresión de la fotonovela como género artístico

La fotonovela es un género intermedial conformado por literatura y fotografía; sin embargo, es necesario que se transgreda su forma tradicional para ser un lugar de reflexión crítica sobre la supuesta condición mimética de la fotografía y su limitación como arte espacial. En este trabajo se propone la nueva fotonovela como posibilidad para abordar la dimensión narrativa y ficcional de la fotografía en relación con la literatura, a la vez que se reconoce su especificidad respecto a otros géneros también intermediales, como son algunas novelas de Wright Morris y W. G. Sebald que contienen fotografías. Como ejemplo de la experimentación sobre la fotonovela se analizan las fórmulas de Marie-Françoise Plissart y de Chris Marker, en las que se aprecia una estrecha relación de la fotografía con la memoria y una percepción del tiempo diferente como fragmentación de instantes.

The photo-novel is an intermedial genre formed by literature and photography; however, it is necessary to transgress its traditional form to be a place of critical reflection on the supposed mimetic condition of photography and its limitation as a spatial art. In this work the new photo-novel is proposed as a possibility to approach the narrative and fictional dimension of photography, in relation to literature, while recognizing its specificity with respect to other intermediate genres, such as some of Wright Morris’ novels and W.G. Sebald that include photographs. As an example of the experimentation on the photo-novel, the formulas of Marie-Françoise Plissart and Chris Marker are analyzed, in which a close relationship of photography with memory and a different perception of time as fragmentation of instants can be apreciated.
