    The Bestiari català (first half of the 14th c.) is a Catalan translation of the Libro della natura degli animali, also known as Bestiario toscano, a vernacular prose text composed in a Pisan milieu in the last quarter of the 13th century. This essay focuses on the relationship between the tradition of the Libro della natura and its Catalan translation. The Author argues that the translation was drawn from a copy of the Libro della natura holding a high position within the stemma codicum.

    Il Bestiari català, databile alla prima metà del XIV secolo, è una traduzione in catalano del Libro della natura degli animali, noto anche come Bestiario toscano, testo in prosa volgare allestito in ambiente pisano nell’ultimo quarto del XIII secolo. Servendosi della recensio approntata per l’edizione del Libro della natura, l’A. indaga i rapporti tra questo testo e il Bestiari català, e ipotizza che il traduttore attinse a un esemplare del Libro della natura dipendente dai rami alti della tradizione.
