The article discusses the moral and legal issues in the efforts to describe artworks so that blind and low-vision persons can access them online through a screen reader. Also cited are the lawsuits filed against art galleries in New York in 2019 due to the absence of alt text descriptions in their online images, as well as the provision of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on the issue.
