    Este artículo es una biografía de Luis Bernardo Jalón en el periodo de tiempo que permaneció como maestro de capilla en la catedral de Sevilla. Aporta información sobre su nombramiento, retribuciones, viajes y fallecimiento, aclarando la confusión existente respecto a los cargos que el maestro L. B. Jalón y su hermano Pedro Jalón ejercieron en esta ciudad. Nos aproximo además a diversos aspectos de la música en la catedral hispalense durante los dieciséis años de su magisterio, como los intentos para la introducción del arpo, o la composición de los villancicos; finalmente se describe las obras del maestro conservadas en el archivo de la catedral de Sevilla y las referencias que aparecen en los inventarios históricos.

    This article is a biography of Luis Bernardo Jalón, concerning the period of his life he spent as choirmaster in the cathedral of Seville. The article conveys information about his designation, payments, travels and decease, casting light on the existing confusion about the offices held in the city by master L. B. Jalón and his brother Pedro Jalón. Moreover, it brings us nearer to different aspects of music in the Sevillian cathedral during the sixteen years of his mastery, like the attempts to introduce the harp or the composition of carols. Finally the article describes the master's works kept within the archives of the cathedral of Seville and the references that appear in the historical inventories.
