Resumen de Hacia la creación de un Museo en la Universidad. La colección de Arte Contemporáneo de la Universidad del País Vasco UPV/EHU

  Los cambios acontecidos durante el siglo XXI en torno a los modos de creación y presentación del arte contemporáneo y su musealización son evidentes en la actualidad y de ellos da constancia el replanteamiento sobre el concepto de museo con la inclusión de tipologías y colecciones de carácter universitario como la que aquí se presenta. La colección de patrimonio artístico de la Universidad del País Vasco UPV/EHU está compuesta por obras recopiladas durante las últimas tres décadas, que al igual que otras colecciones universitarias, ha ido creándose principalmente mediante compra, donaciones y especialmente gracias a certámenes para su adquisición. A pesar de estar formada por importantes obras de arte representativas del desarrollo y producción del arte vasco de las últimas décadas, no ha logrado constituirse del todo como un conjunto patrimonial que cumpla con todas las funciones que definen al museo ni visibilizar adecuadamente su importancia. Con la presente revisión, se pretende recuperar la identidad y la historia de esta colección universitaria con el objetivo final de conservar y dar a conocer esta interesante muestra de arte contemporáneo, estrechamente vinculada la Facultad de Bellas Artes de la Universidad del País Vasco.

  The changes occurred during the twenty-first century around the new creation and presentation ways of contemporary art, as well as its musealization are evident nowadays. This is reflected by the redefinition made around the concept of museum and the inclusion of typologies such as university collections as the one presented here. The artistic heritage collection of the University of the Basque Country is composed of works compiled during the last three decades, and, as it happens with other university collections, it has been created mainly by purchase, donations and specially, heritage acquisition contests. Despite being formed by important works that represent the development and production of the Basque Art of the last decades, it has not managed to be constituted like a patrimonial ensemble that fulfills all the functions that define the museum neither has made visible its importance properly. With this review, we intend to recover the identity and history of this university collection with the final objective of preserving and showing to the public this interesting exhibit of contemporary art, closely linked to the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of the Basque Country.
