Resumen de La socialización en los clubes asturianos en Cuba a través de las crónicas de la revista El Progreso de Asturias (1919-1961)

La comunicación aborda las formas de socialización de los emigrantes asturianos en Cuba analizando las crónicas de las celebraciones y reuniones de tipo asociativo recogidas en la revista ilustrada El Progreso de Asturias. Esta revista fue creada por un asturiano emigrante y tuvo una importante repercusión en la colonia asturiana, dada la intensa relación entre Cuba y Asturias. Para abarcar el periodo propuesto, que responde a la propia vida de la revista, se ha visto oportuno hacer tres incisos que permitan detectar en cada momento las distintas muestras de socialización. Éstas tienen que ver con el ciclo festivo anual y con los actos de los diferentes círculos, clubes, o del propio Centro Asturiano de La Habana, donde los asturianos y sus descendientes desarrollan una amplia actividad social, cultural y recreativa.

The proposal addresses the ways of socialization of Asturian inmigrants in Cuba analyzing the articles on celebrations and associative gatherings included in the illustrated magazine El Progreso de Asturias. This magazine was created by an Asturian emigrant and had a remarkable impact on the Asturian community, given the intense relationship between Cuba and Asturias. To cover the proposed period, which matches the life of the magazine, it was considered opportune to make three sections that allow the different ways of socialization to be detected at each moment. These sections are related to the annual festive calendar and the acts in the different circles, clubs or the Asturian Center of Havana itself, where the Asturians and their descendants develop broad social, cultural and recreational activity.
