Resumen de Entre el progreso y la represión: cambios en la concepción de la sexualidad femenina de la II República al franquismo

El franquismo trajo consigo cambios políticos, económicos y también sociales que afectaron al conjunto de la población. No obstante se dieron al mismo tiempo una serie de modificaciones que fueron aplicadas unilateralmente al colectivo femenino, y que se manifestaron de manera específica y simbólica en torno a la sexualidad. La legislación republicana -al menos sobre el papel- había conseguido aliviar la carga tradicional respecto al cuerpo femenino gracias, sobre todo, a la disolución del poder de la Iglesia respecto al control de las costumbres. Igualmente, durante este periodo se fomentó la literatura sobre la temática sexual, se comenzó a desarrollar una preocupación pedagógica sobre sexualidad e incluso se creó la Liga Española para la Reforma Sexual. Con la llegada del franquismo se produjo una involución de todos estos procesos que fue canalizada a través de la creación de un prototipo de mujer alejada de las libertades individuales, sometida al hombre, restringida al ámbito doméstico y apática ante los estímulos sexuales. Pretendemos mediante esta comunicación examinar los cambios en torno a la sexualidad femenina entre ambos periodos atendiendo principalmente a la construcción ideológica de la mujer y su cuerpo.

The Franco regime brought with it political, economic and social changes that affected the whole population. However, at the same time there were a series of modifications that were applied unilaterally to the female collective, and that were manifested in a specific and symbolic way around sexuality. The republican legislation - at least on paper - had managed to alleviate the traditional burden with respect to the female body thanks, above all, to the dissolution of the power of the Church with respect to the control of customs. Likewise, during this period the literature on sexual matters was promoted, a pedagogical concern about sexuality was developed and the Spanish League for Sexual Reform was even created. With the arrival of the Franco regime there was an involution of all these processes that was channeled through the creation of a prototype of a woman away from individual liberties, subject to man, restricted to domestic and apathetic to sexual stimuli. Through this communication, we intend to examine the changes regarding female sexuality between both periods, paying particular attention to the ideological construction of women and their bodies.
