Resumen de Reificaciones y metáforas: Las referencias a lo mental

En el análisis agustiniano del lenguaje había vocablos categoremáticos y sincategcremáticos. Es decir, ciertas palabras hacían referencias a clases y otras únicamente servían como medios para la construcción de las oraciones. Esa tradición pervive y ahora la Psicolingüistica clasifica a las palabras en contenido y función. Por desgracia y por un vicio reificador presente a lo largo de la historia en un buen número de sistemas científicos y filosóficos, las palabras que hacían referencia a algo empezaron a considerarse como íconos de ese algo. Tal vicio reifica.dor y el proporcionarle íconocisismo a las palabras ha llevado a considerar que nuestro conocimiento 10 forman imágenes situadas en un espacio interno, el de nuestra mente. En este trabajo se analiza como el haber cargado a los términos referenciales con contenidos icónicos o el haber confundido sus usos metafóricos, llevó a la creación del mundo de lo mental.

In the Augustinian analysis of language, there were categorematic and sincategorematic terms. That is to say, certain words referred to classes and others served only as means for the construction of sentences. This tradition remains and now psycholinguistics classifies words into content and function. Unfortunately, and because of a reifying vice that has been present throughout the history in a good number of scientific and philosophical systems, words that referred to something started to be considered as icons for that something. This reifyng vice, and attributing icon-like features to words, has resulted in the view that our knowledge is formed by images that are located in an inner space, that of our mind. The present work is an analysis of how loading referential terms with iconic contents, or confusing their metaphorical uses, led to the creation of the realm of the mental.
