¿Quo vadis, ecología política española?

    En las elecciones europeas de 2019, Los Verdes han cosechado un resultado histórico y con ello han convertido el clima en prioridad política a nivel continental. Pero esta ola verde centrada en el noroeste europeo sigue sin penetrar en el sur. Esto es un obstáculo para que Los Verdes en el futuro también puedan disputar la hegemonía institucional a los grupos conservadores, socialdemócratas y liberales europeos. España es, por tanto, una prioridad de crecimiento para Los Verdes Europeos. Pero sigue siendo un agujero negro de la ecología política, cuyo espacio —todavía débil hoy, pero con gran perspectiva de futuro— está en disputa entre diferentes actores políticos.

    En primer lugar, este artículo repasa lo ocurrido desde la Transición democrática hasta el 15-M para encontrar las razones de esta situación de debilidad. En segundo término, analiza los posibles escenarios futuros del espacio verde en España y las condiciones necesarias para su eclosión como actor central de la política española y, por tanto, europea.

    In the European elections of 2019, The Greens have reaped a historic result, making the climate a political priority at the continental level. But this green wave centered in the northern-western Europe still doesn’t penetrate the south of Europe. This is an obstacle so that the Greens may also in the future dispute the institutional hegemony to European conservative, social democrats and liberal groups. Spain is therefore a growth priority for European Greens. But it remains a black hole for political ecology whose space, still weak today but with great perspectives in the future, is in dispute between different political actors.

    First, this article reviews the reasons for understanding this situation of weakness from the democratic transition to the «Indignados» movement. Second, it analyzes the possible future scenarios of the Green space in Spain and the necessary conditions for its emergence as a central actor in Spanish and therefore European politics.
