Naturalismo moderno y corrientes del ecologismo

    En este artículo se procede en primer lugar a una caracterización sintética de las concepciones de la relación sociedad-naturaleza que coexisten en el pensamiento moderno, analizando las dimensiones ontológica, ética y metafísica de esta relación. Emergen dos grandes ontologías (el naturalismo «bipolar» y el «dialéctico») y tres visiones dominantes: la tecnocentrista, la conservadora y la socialconstruccionista. Se analiza luego cómo estas visiones se relacionan con las corrientes actuales del ecologismo. Este se abre en tres corrientes: los ecologismos liberales, los conservacionismos y los ecomarxismos, que, de manera transversal, son herederos de las tres visiones precedentes. A pesar de que la ontología naturalista bipolar y la visión conservadora sean las que más han influido en el pensamiento ecologista, este comprende un espectro ancho y complejo de propuestas y subcorrientes híbridas que recorren numerosas vertientes del pensamiento moderno y todo el abanico político desde el neoliberalismo hasta el socialismo.

    This article offers first a synthetic characterization of the conceptions of the society-nature relationship that coexist in modern thinking, analyzing more specifically the ontological, ethical and metaphysical dimensions of this relationship. Two great ontologies «bipolar» and «dialectical» naturalism- and three dominant visions emerge: the «techno-centrist», the «conservationist» and the «social-constructionist». The article then turns to the analysis of how these visions relate to the current tendencies of ecology and environmentalism. Three main trends are described: liberal environmentalism, conservationism and ecomarxism, which, in a transversal way, are all related to the three afore mentioned visions. Although the «bipolar» ontology and the «conservative» vision have been the most influential in environmental thinking, the latter includes a broad and complex spectrum of hybrid proposals and sub-trends that run through many aspects of modern thinking and the entire political range from neoliberalism to socialism.
