El siguiente artículo pretende hacer una reflexión crítica, en torno al tema de la educación para la paz, como centro del debate de las cátedras de la paz, que han sido establecidas por el gobierno colombiano a partir de las negociaciones de paz con las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia, FARC, y con miras a que estos acuerdos configuren un punto de inflexión entre la sociedad antes de los acuerdos y el periodo posterior conocido como el posconflicto. La educación es el centro del debate, ya que constituye un pilar fundamental en la transformación y la estructuración de la sociedad que se quiere tener, y conscientes que, para lograr un cambio social significativo, que redunde en un mejor nivel de vida, se hace necesario realizar cambios también significativos en la educación, la cual debe partir de las necesidades reales y que estructure un conocimiento que redunde en soluciones a éstas.
