Modèles et représentations de genre dans la littérature de jeunesse entre la France et l'Italie: quelques réflexions à partir de la maison d'édition Talents Hauts

    This study examines issues related to translation as transnational circulation and dissemination of gender-positive ideas and books, through the French "militant" publishing house Talents Hauts and its books translated and published in Italy.

    After a brief overview of current trends in children's publishing, we focus on Talents Hauts, presenting their editorial line and the ethical and cultural principles and concerns that underlie their activity. The analysis of the catalogue reveals a production that is rich and varied in terms of both age groups and textual genres, as well as a marginal role for translation within the editorial policy. The importation of Talents Hauts books into Italy involves limited exchanges and results in a handful of Italian translations. Drawing on some key issues related to translation and non-translation, the Italian publishers of these few translations, and the presence of favoured or neglected textual genres, we finally try to explore the editorial and socio-cultural elements that may influence the translation - and reception - of these books in a now editorial and cultural context.

    Cette étude se penche sur les questions liées a la traduction en matière de circulation et diffusion transnationales d'idées et d'ouvrages «positifs» du point de vue du genre, en s'appuyant sur l'expérience de la maison d'édition française militante Talents Hauts et de ses livres traduits et publiés en Italie. Après un bref aperçu du panorama éditorial actuel, nous présentons les Éditions Talents Hauts, leur ligne éditoriale, les principes et les soucis éthiques et culturels qui en sous-tendent l'activité. L’analyse du catalogue révèle une production riche et diversifiée relativement aux classes d'âge et aux genres textuels, ainsi qu'une place marginale de la traduction au sein de la politique éditoriale. Pour ce qui est de l'importation des ouvrages de Talents Hauts en Italie, nous pouvons également observer des échanges restreints et un nombre limité de traductions italiennes. En nous basant sur quelques questions centrales liées a la traduction ou non-traduction, aux rnaisons d'édition qui publient ces traductions et à la présence de genres textuels privilégiés ou négligés, nous tenterons enfin de réfléchir sur Ios aspects éditoriaux et socio-culturels susceptibles d'influencer la traduction - et la réception - de ces ouvrages dans un nouveau contexte éditorial et culturel.
