Lucio Canuleio y la romanización del Campo de Gibraltar

  En la primera mitad del siglo II a. C., se produjo en el estrecho de Gibraltar un suceso que tendría importantes repercusiones en el posterior proceso de implantación romana en la Comarca. Un pretor de nombre Lucio Canuleio concedió el derecho de ciudadanía a cuantos habitantes de la ciudad de Carteia así lo eligiesen. Además, también lo hizo extensible a los hijos nacidos de las uniones entre romanos e hispanas. Este trabajo trata sobre este aspecto, analizando las repercusiones que dicha manumisión tuvo en la posterior romanización de la zona.

  In the first half of the 2nd century B.C., it happened in the strait of Gibraltar an event that would have important repercussions in the later process of Roman implantation in the Region. A praetor called Lucio Canuleio, granted the right of citizenship to all the habitants of the city of Carteia like that they were choosing it. In addition, also it made it extensible to the born children of the unions between Romans and Hispanic womans. This work treats on this aspect analyzing the repercussions that the above mentioned manumission had in the later romanización of the zone.
