La represión de posguerra en el Campo de Gibraltar: Los Barrios (1939-1942)

    La presencia y actividad de las distintas modalidades del sistema represivo del régimen franquista están todavía poco tratados por la historiografía. En menor medida hallamos obras que sitúen esta modalidad represiva en un entorno geográfico.

    Durante la posguerra española, fueron de vital importancia las distintas unidades disciplinarias (provenientes del ejército republicano vencido) y el papel que jugaron en la comarca del Campo de Gibraltar dentro del sistema represivo del nuevo estado franquista. Este trabajo intenta indagar, en distintos aspectos de estas unidades. Se trata de una pieza más en el complicado puzle que significa conocer la presencia y la actuación de estos prisioneros en la comarca del Campo de Gibraltar.

    Esta comunicación se centra en el municipio de Los Barrios. En posteriores fases de la investigación, se relacionará la presencia en la comarca con los batallones de la II Región Militar y con los del norte de África. Por lo tanto, se trata de un primer acercamiento a las obras, fechas y lugares de asentamientos de los distintos batallones.

    The existence and activity of the various forms of repressive system in Franco´s dictatorship have been poorly treated by historiography.

    It is difficult to situate this repressive form in a geographical area.

    During the post-war period, the different working field units (unidades disciplinarias) from the defeated Republican Army, were of great importance as well as the role they played in the Campo de Gibraltar within the repressive system of the new Francoist government. This research attempts to investigate different aspects of these units. We are talking about another relevant key element in the complicated puzzle which involved the presence and action of these prisoners in the area of Campo de Gibraltar. This relationship is focused on the town of Los Barrios. In later stages of the investigation, the prisoners’ role in the region will be related to the battalions of the Second Military Region and in the North Africa. Therefore, it can be considered as the first approach to the work, dates and places of the various battalions´ settlements.
