    Llegint els documents antics referents a la Riba molt sovint apareixen les paraules Aquis, Molendinis. La característica del seu paisatge natural és la presencia dels rius Brugent i Francolí així com nombroses fonts i el relleu molt accidentat de les muntanyes de Prades amb pendents abruptes que permeten la formació natural de salts d’aigua; ambdues peculiaritats han contribuït a que el lloc sigui idoni per a l’aprofitament de la força hidràulica i establir-hi molendinis, tan fariners o paperers com d’oli i d’altre tipus. L’objectiu de la restauració del molí del Racó era fer-lo accessible als visitants i facilitar una lectura clara de com era a l’època en què exercia la seva funció de manufactura de paper.

    Reading the ancient documents referring to La Riba very often the words Aquis and Molendinis appear. The characteristic of its natural landscape is the presence of the Brugent and Francolí rivers as well as numerous fountains and the rugged relief of the Prades mountains, with steep slopes that allow the natural formation of waterfalls; Both peculiarities have contributed to making the place suitable for the use of hydraulic force and to establish molendinis, either for flour or paper production, as well as for oil and other types. The aim of the restoration of the Racó mill was to make it accessible to the visitors and to facilitate a clear reading of how it was at the time when it carried out its function of paper manufacture
